据外媒报道，印度尼西亚的创业公司Evoware创建了一种由海藻制成的新型可食用包装纸。该产品几乎无味，直接食用还具有相当的营养价值，被当作废弃物扔掉的话也能够在自然界发生生物降解。据Evoware公司称，这种新型的包装材料既可以直接以固体的形式被食用，也能够溶于热水。目前，该公司正在着力将这种材料开发用于咖啡小包装袋以及方便面中的小调料包的包装。
可以预见Evoware的这种包装材料将受到消费者的欢迎，原因有二：便利性和可持续性。这种包装材料可以和咖啡一起溶解喝掉，这就省掉了到处找剪刀剪咖啡袋的麻烦；另外，这种材料可以减少塑料垃圾的产生，对环境非常友好。
目前Evoware还没有报道这种产品是否比传统的塑料包装更贵。如果成本差异很小，消费者可能会非常乐意接受它。
Indonesian-based startup Evoware created a new edible wrapper made from seaweed, according to Fast Company. The product is almost tasteless, nutritious when eaten and naturally biodegrades when it’s thrown out.
The company reports that the seaweed is treated for food safety and converted into packaging without chemicals.
Evoware’s wrapper can be eaten in its solid form or will dissolve in hot water. The startup is now focusing on creating individual serving coffee packaging and tiny seasoning sachets often found in instant noodles.
